Indian Head Cent Mintages

Indian Head Cent ReverseThe Indian Head Cent was issued between the years 1859 and 1909 inclusive. Each year, coins were produced at the Philadelphia Mint. For the final two years of the series, coins were also produced in more limited numbers at the San Francisco Mint. The "S" mint mark can be found on the reverse of the coin, under the wreath.

The lowest mintage issue of the series was the 1909-S with only 309,000 pieces. Two other issues had mintage less than one million. This was the 1877 and 1908-S Indian Head Cents.
